Grading Assignments in D2L

Grade Files Submitted to a Assignment Folder

  1. Select Assignments on the course navigation bar.
  2. Select the name of the Assignment folder.
  3. Select the name of the file the student submitted.
  4. Enter a numeric value in the Score field.
  5. Type or paste qualitative comments in the Feedback field.
  6. Select Add a File and to upload a feedback file.
  7. Save feedback.
    • Select Save Draft to hide feedback from students.
    • Select Publish to make the feedback available to students.
  8. Select Next Student to assess the next student's file or Back to Folder Assignments if done reviewing files.

Give Audio Feedback on a File Submitted to the Assignment Folder

Note Adobe Flash Player and a working microphone connected to the computer are needed for this function to work.

  1. Open the submission within the Assignments area.
  2. Select the Record Audio button under the "Feedback field."
  3. Enable audio input through Adobe Flash by selecting Allow and selecting Remember. (This step is only necessary the first time.)
  4. Select New Recording when ready to speak.
  5. Select Stop Recording when finished.
  6. Select the play button to preview the recording.
  7. Note: If the play button cannot be seen, expand the dialogue window by dragging the lower corner.

  8. Select Add when satisfied with the recording.
  9. Select Save.

Give Feedback to Students who haven't Submitted Files to an Assignment Folder

  1. Select Assignments on the course navigation bar.
  2. Select the name of the Assignment folder.
  3. Select the Show Search Options link.
  4. Select the dropdown menu under "Assignments."
  5. Select Users without Assignments.
  6. Select the search icon in the "Search For..." text box.
  7. Select the Evaluate link.
